44. Bedhead-Styled Bixie. Hairstylists say, “Chop it off. Chop it off.” A good idea, especially if you want to give it some class and volume. However, the shape you go for can make the difference between the fabulous you and the frumpy you. Make sure your final look meets its target on volume as well.

Women sometimes think that if they don’t have thick, Pocahontas-like locks, they’ve got a raw deal. Let’s dispel this myth once and for all! Thinner strands have an enviable soft and silky texture that is much easier to style and keep healthy. And there are countless trendy crops that can easily build stunning volume on anyone with this type of hair.

In this post, we will show just how easy it is to create a sexy, trendy, voluminous look on your type of hair so that you can finally consider yourself very lucky!

Generally, delicate crops will be easier to style than long hairstyles for thick hair, but there are variations between the styles. From layered bobs to playful curls, there are tons of ways to achieve bigger, more voluminous looks and generate an illusion of fullness.

So, without further ado, here are 50 awesome crops and chops that will make you look absolutely stunning!

1. Pixie with Nape Undercut. If you are a brunette who strives for a boost of volume, jazz it up with some blonde highlights to add dimension and get a fuller look.

2. Tomboy Choppy Crop. The appeal of a tomboy cut is obvious – not only is it easy to maintain but it also looks beyond cool! We love these feminine + tomboy vibes that work in perfect harmony.

3. Jaggy Pixie with Baby Bangs. Are you looking to cut down your styling time? Go for this cutie with cropped bangs. It’s a little messy, subtle, and just the right amount of edgy.

4. Classy Temple Undercut. If your hair is wispy, sleek, and straight, this chic undercut will be right up your street!

5. Layered Straight Bob. One of the staple hairdos you may try is the layered bob. Chic and full of grace, it’s going to collect glances of admiration every day! Pro tip: add highlights for extra glow.

6. Silver Bronde Pixie Bob. Do you want to add some spice to your style? Then this bixie is a perfect match for your goal. Even if a bob is not your vibe, take the metallic bronde and silver balayage hair color idea for your next makeover.

7. Blunt Blonde Bob. Elegant, modern, and flattering – this blunt blonde bob gets top scores! Consult your hair colorist to choose the right blonde hair color for your skin tone.

8. Textured Chin-Length Bob. This cute nearly one-length bob shows how to boost texture without much layering but with texturized ends since too many layers can result in a lack of body.

9. Elongated Undercut Pixie. Don’t hesitate to incorporate shaved sides and back into your crops, as they have the magic power to accentuate volume around the perimeter and build support for top layers.

10. Disheveled Long Pixie. For that magnificently beautiful look, try this lovely pixie. A great ‘do short hair style for ladies over 50 and a smashing look for younger ladies. This should be one of your go-to ideas if you have wispy locks.

11. Straight Airy Bixie. A long pixie can look very sophisticated. Wispy layering makes your crop appear softer, while the razored layers at the crown are perfect for creating height and adding volume.

12. Textured Blunt Bob. Here’s one of the most gorgeous volume-boosting bobs, a very feminine and low-maintenance look. The unruly messy waves, funky blunt edges, and dimensional highlights make it full and intriguing.

13. Feathered Jaggy Pixie. This is an awesome option for women of class who like simplicity and chic. The ruffled layers make her brunette strands appear full and fabulous. A fantastic way to style your locks when you value your time!

14. Blown-Out Comb-Over Bob. Another amazing solution that looks super-gorgeous on most face shapes. Check this cute comb-over bob. The lifted roots and blown-out strands make them seem voluminous. This style also does a wonderful job of softening a strong jawline and hiding a double chin if any.

15. Messy Piece-y Bixie. This á la mode pixie-bob has graced the red carpet of many fashion shows. The layered waves add an illusion of volume and the neck length reveals your beautiful neck and shoulders, making your face appear slimmer and your neck longer.

16. Teased Inverted Shaggy Bob. This crop curves towards the face and grazes the cheekbones. Blow it out lifting the roots and tease them slightly if necessary for extra volume and you won’t want anything better.

17. Trendy Mullet with Deep Bangs. You can safely choose layered crops, provided they don’t get too much weight removed and are carefully balanced out, for example, by deep messy bangs that lend extra volume in the front.

18. Sliced Pixie Before and After. You can get the volume and look you desire – all in one solution. These two before and after pictures attest to the claim. The layered bangs added tons of volume. Doesn’t she look much younger in the “after” photo? A really low-maintenance choice, too.

19. Tousled Honey-Tinted Bob. Messy bobs with some elongation around the face are great for us, since they shift weight toward the front for a fuller feel, and the styling adds oomph to the limp strands.

20. Polished Tapered Pixie-Bob. A neat cropped bob for women with natural brunette locks. She looks absolutely chic and dapper while her bixie is easy to maintain. Worth trying asap!

22. Long Pixie with Bangs. The long pixie with a layered fringe is at the top of current trends right now!

23. Sharp Pixie with Angled Undercut. Those sharp angles are suitable for someone edgy and sophisticated. Cropped hairdos are good for wispy strands as they make the latter stronger. One of the best ideas for women is the pixie cut. Pair it with an angled undercut for a more stunning look. It’s so good in pictures and real life, no matter what angle you view it from.

24. Wispy Cropped Blonde Shag. The rough and tousled bed-head is one of the trending options in 2025. The sassy wispy bangs and overall messy finish add much glamor and volume to this pretty bob.

25. Poker-Straight Razored Bob. This is a super charming idea for ladies with straight strands that’ll add plenty of volume to fine locks!

26. Tapered Boyish Pixie for Girls. Tapering is gradual trimming on both sides and back. The long strands are blended with the shorter ones to create a cohesive look. One of the iconic crops that has been popular among women of all ages.

27. Smoothed Down Choppy Pixie. There are myriad ways to style your cropped locks, and this bleached pixie with an elongated nape and choppy bits on the crown keeps it rough and piece-y to enhance density.

28. Classy Sliced Shag with Bangs. A lovely shag for women of all ages. The sliced layers make it appear more voluminous. The face-framing wispy pieces are also layered for a volumizing effect. This attractive bob is great for making your mane appear fuller and masking a receding hairline if necessary.

32. Cute Ruffled Pixie. At a loss about what to do with your limp strands? Take a good look at this picture. Word is that even very delicate locks could look ravishing in the right crop. Find suitable solutions, and your headache is gone.

33. Dainty Long Pixie. Giving your elongated pixie a messy finish is a fantastic way of creating a semblance of volume in it. Flips in different directions and flyaways lend a graceful mess that volumizes this cute bixie.

34. Platinum Pixie with Wispy Finish. Wispy layers do a nice job in our case, as they help to fill the strands with texture and lift them at the roots without removing too much body.

35. Choppy Bixie with Swoopy Bangs. If your strands are wispy yet on the denser side, you can pull off a grown-out pixie like this beautifully textured taper where movement and volume are invoked by a killer combo of gradual, all-over layers and tousled styling.

36. Elongated Layered Pixie. A sleek, angled cut with lots of dynamic layers results in a flattering and classy look. It highlights your face and truly looks super-chic on most women.

37. Airy Tousled Bixie. Crops that rely on side-parting have a great volumizing effect. Styled to one side, your pixie-bob looks much thicker and healthier. Talk of strength in unity.

38. Blunt Bob with Side Bangs. This dirty blonde bob has everything you may need to add body and volume — a blunt line for a fuller look around the ends, dark roots for depth, and side bangs for volume in the front.

39. Elegant Pixie with Wispy Fringe. Volume doesn’t have to come with tousled tresses, and you can opt for a tidier and more elegant look, such as this rounded ‘do with plenty of layers, a lifted crown, and piece-y bangs swept to one side.

40. Shattered Inverted Bob. This layered shag is fabulous. Observe the side part closely. See those forward-swept locks covered with the strands at the parting? Those are little styling details that make great changes in the long run. Sophisticated color schemes do wonders too.

41. Layered Bob for Wavy Hair. Got soft, baby-like strands? This layered and tousled bob will make them look fuller.

42. Messy Stacked Pixie-Bob. You’ll want to stay away from stiff and immovable locks with this classy bob. Use layers, angles, bangs, highlights, etc. to keep them thick and moving.

43. Soft Shaggy Brown Pixie. Short shags look fabulous, provided they are cut sparingly to avoid losing the body while delivering texture, movement, and lift.

45. Stacked Bob with Elongated Front. Wear your mane, don’t let it wear you. Your choice shouldn’t demean your personal style. Do you like it sleek and polished to perfection? Consider a concave bob. The back length should be tucked in right at the nape of your neck for a fuller appearance.

46. Choppy Undercut Pixie. Not too formal, and not too messy – that’s how we’d define this undercut. It’s also relatively easy to style, which is always a bonus!

47. Parisian Pixie with Shaggy Bangs. This French-girl shag is included in our list of favorites because its choppiness creates tons of dimension and dynamics while the effortless bangs add fullness to the front.

48. Jaw-Length Bob Shag. A shag like this always stands out from other crops due to its fantastic ability to add volume! The choppy strands in the shag make the look edgy yet cute and utterly splendid!

49. Fluffy Blonde Pixie. The slightly outgrown meticulously chopped pixie is the look from the top of our list!

50. Voluminous Shaved Wedge. Nothing beats a stylish and sassy long pixie! Confidence is the main ingredient you’ll need to rock this super trendy, bold wedge.

We hope this list of ultimate volumizing crops has left you feeling inspired and thrilled. Plus, now you’ve got plenty of images to show to your stylist on the next appointment!

    My hair is naturally curly.
But I’m disabled and can’t mess around with my hair, like I used to.
    I’m 54 years old.
And for a few years now, I have had it short and spiky.
I just don’t know how to have my hair anymore.
I feel like cutting it all off.

At 71, I have very fine, thinning hair. My hairdresser cuts it in an angled bob, chin length, shorter in the back and gives me platinum highlights and dark blonde low lights and evenly spaced thick dark red streaks. I get lots of compliments on my hair. It’s classy and interesting.

Hi Margo, I am a 66yr young retired hairstylist. I would say that a “Bob cut” is a very easy, classy, manageable hct if u have nice silky hair and all one length. It can have bangs and can be angled around your face some, or tucked behind your ears….Simple to blow dry nicely with a little instruction if you’re not good at it. Also if you are gray…maybe a few soft blonde highlights to jazz it up? Very long-lasting with gray hair so low maintenance. Or…if u are adventurous…maybe full head blonde with some darker, Soft Lowlights….At our age, we all need something make us feel better about our looks!!! ha!! Best wishes!!!!
